Polyester resin adhesive
Polyester resin film thermoplastic adhesive is a high yield and low cost material that can be rolled up. It can be made into heat resistant material with copper skin and meet the specifications of UL-94VTM-0. It does not pass the bleached tin test and the maximum operating temperature is 110℃. Polyester resin adhesives are typically used on polyester resin substrates, although they are occasionally used on other materials, depending on the type of application.
Acrylic adhesive
Acrylic adhesive is the first choice for FPC flexible circuit board production for a long time. It is favored by many polyimide substrate makers because of their excellent binding force and simple operation. Acrylic adhesives provide reasonable heat resistance, simple process and good bonding with many different materials.
Epoxy resin and modified adhesive
Epoxy resin is the most commonly used adhesive material in the world, of course, can not avoid application in FPC flexible circuit board. Epoxy resin has very good high temperature resistance and can present the best value of peel strength. Epoxy resins also have a degree of moisture absorption, so be careful when working with them.
Polyimide adhesive
The use of polyimide adhesives is limited to polyimide substrates due to the high process temperatures required. Therefore, if the FPC flexible board is made entirely with polyimide adhesive, it can show maximum temperature resistance.
Other adhesives
In addition to the adhesive, other thermoplastic materials have been used in the past for FPC flexible circuit boards. Including FEP and PEI, these materials require a process similar to that of polyimide adhesives, which are generally attached at high temperature and high pressure.
